RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Regional Development and Tourism Committee (CDR) of Brazil’s Senate will hold a public hearing this Monday, December 13, at 6 PM with the theme “The ongoing rebound and the outlook for tourism in 2022.”

The meeting will mark the 15th round of debates on tourism, led by the committee chair, Senator Fernando Collor.

Presidents of the Brazilian Airline Association (ABEAR) Eduardo Sanovicz, of the Brazilian Hotel Industry Association (ABIH) Manoel Linhares, and of the Brazilian Travel Agency Association (ABAV) Magda Nassar, as well as Porto de Pedras mayor Henrique Vilela, were invited to the hearing.

According to data from the National Confederation of Trade of Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC), the sector is expected to employ 478,100 formal workers between November 2021 and February 2022.  Of this total, 81,700 will meet the high season demand, with temporary jobs.
