Brazilian man riddled with bullets in Bolivia region

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A Brazilian man died after being shot multiple times while at the bus terminal of a municipality in the Bolivian region of Santa Cruz. Police arrested three people for investigation.

The 30-year-old man was shot Saturday at the door of the bus terminal in the municipality of San Ignacio de Velasco in the eastern department of Santa Cruz, near the border with Brazil, Bolivian police commander Jhonny Aguilera told local media on Sunday.

According to local media reports, the man was about to board his truck when he was shot four times.

The commander indicated that the Brazilian died due to traumatic brain injury caused by the gunshots.

The police arrested three people inside the van for “investigative purposes” to give their informative statements about this event.

It is preliminarily known that the persons who shot the man arrived at the place on a motorcycle and then fled.

Aguilera added that they presume that three people shot the young man.

The police also confiscated the young man’s car who was shot to carry out the necessary investigations.

After this event, several operations have been carried out in the area to find those responsible for this event.

Meanwhile, the relatives of the 30-year-old man have already arrived at the morgue of the municipal hospital of San Ignacio de Velasco to pick up the body.

In addition, they have already begun to carry out the paperwork to transfer the body to Brazil to bury it in the place, according to local media.

This is the second incident of this type in that town after a man was murdered in February in front of a pharmacy.

The municipality inhabitants asked the government to activate a citizen security plan after these events, which have left the municipality in fear.
