Brazilian health regulator announces purchase of monkeypox vaccine, health minister declines to declare emergency

Brazil’s health regulator (Anvisa) today approved the emergency purchase of vaccines against monkeypox, with which, according to official figures, nearly 3,500 people have already been infected, and the number had risen sharply in the last week, closely monitored by the World Health Organization (WHO).

After a meeting, the Board of Directors of Anvisa decided to buy vaccines and medicines against the disease without first analyzing them in Brazil and considering the tests carried out by foreign agencies as valid.

The measure of Anvisa will last 180 days and may be extended depending on the evolution of the epidemic situation.

The Ministry of Health reported that 3,450 people had been infected, representing an increase of about 50% compared to the figure published last Friday.

According to critics, PCR tests are again being used, which, as with Covid, produce many false positive results. The figure of 3,450 should therefore be taken with a grain of salt.

This outspoken critic said:

Remember that they never did systematic autopsies, or had a gold standard test for Covid, withdrew the PCR tests for being wildly false positive, and made billions of $$$ from pushing vaccines. Why should we expect the database to be ever correct? In Sweden, 1.9M school children in 2020: No masks, no distancing, and 0 deaths. Think about how they damaged our children in other countries like Brazil or the US and get mad. Its time.

At another meeting with journalists a year ago, Rosamund Lewis, described as an expert, had said that the Brazilian pandemic figure may be higher than authorities say because few tests are being done but did not mention the false positives, now estimated to be as high as up to 90%.

India says WHO methodology for estimating Covid-19 deaths is ‘flawed and unscientific’.

A new controversial documentary says, the WHO is planning to keep the pandemic going for 10 years, pushing new diseases if necessary.

SÃO PAULO MOST AFFECTED

The state of São Paulo is the most affected with 2,279 patients, followed by Rio de Janeiro with 403 cases and Minas Gerais with 159 cases and one death, the only one in the country.

Before the Covid Event, Brazil Health Ministry reported, e.g., 199 cases of Influenza deaths in 2019, and it would not have occurred to anyone at the time to declare a health emergency because of it.

The accelerated transmission of the disease is being watched with concern by WHO, the same Rosamund Lewis said yesterday at a press conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

The World Health Organization’s declaration of monkeypox as a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern” (PHEIC) was made by one man, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who has no medical training, over the objection of the majority of his own expert committee of medical and scientific advisers.

Nine committee members thought a PHEIC should not be declared, and only six supported a declaration.

“Nine and six are very, very close. Since the committee’s role is to advise, I then had to act as a tie-breaker,” Tedros said in a news conference to announce the decision.

Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga did not respond to a request from some state governments this week to reiterate that a health emergency should be declared.
