Brazilian federal highways are free of blockades and interdictions, says police

By · November 23, 2022 · 1 min read

There are no more blockages or bans on Brazilian federal highways, according to the Federal Highway Police (PRF). The information was released on Tuesday, November 22.

The acts were resumed by supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (Liberal Party – PL, right) last Friday, November 17, after Justice Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) ordered the blocking of accounts of business people suspected of financing the democratic acts organized by Bolsonaro supporters after the questionable presidential elections in October.

The acts on federal highways began as a protest by supporters of President Bolsonaro against the result of the runoff elections, which allegedly gave victory to former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Workers’ Party – PT, left).
