Two indigenous people murdered in Brazil

In the extreme south of the Brazilian state of Bahia, two indigenous people of the Pataxó have been murdered.

According to initial information from the civilian police, Samuel Cristiano do Amor Divino (25) and Nawir Brito de Jesus (17) were shot dead in Itabela on Wednesday afternoon (local time).

In the region is the indigenous land of Barra Velha, a site of intense conflict with ranchers.
