Parlasur: Progressive parliamentary group denounces evictions of Paraguay’s indigenous

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Several peasant leaders recently denounced that Paraguay is criminalizing the fight for land and that it intends to evict over 700,000 people, as a result of the advance of soybean plantations in the country.

"We condemn and denounce this violence committed by the Paraguayan government through the police forces in violent evictions of the indigenous and peasants," said Perié, a leftist Parlasur bench deputy.
