RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - From Thursday, December 30 through at least Sunday, January 2, a mass of humid and unstable air will cause thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in parts of Brazil's Southeast and Midwest regions.
This is indicated by data released on Thursday by the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) and the National Institute for Space Research (INPE).
According to the document, the largest accumulations of rain should occur in the north, center and east of Goiás, in the Federal District, in Minas Gerais (except for the north and northeast of the state), north of São Paulo . . .
