Venezuelan and Cuban Prosecutor’s Offices sign joint cooperation agreement

The Prosecutor General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, informed yesterday, Thursday, that he signed a joint Cooperation Program with the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Cuba to improve the action of both institutions in favor of the administration of justice.

The agreement between both parties was reached within the framework of the 15th International Meeting of Criminal Sciences being held at the Convention Palace in Havana, the Cuban capital.

“We have signed with the Prosecutor General of Cuba, Yamila Peña, the Cooperation Program between our sister institutions to consolidate justice”, informed Tarek William Saab.

The referred agreement subscribed today between both parties is valid until 2025 and contemplates the realization of the seminar “Fight against crimes committed with the use of information and communication technologies, as well as against the dissemination of prohibited information on the Internet”.

The agreement also includes the exchange of experiences of both prosecutors’ offices in protecting the rights of children and adolescents.

Likewise, the document foresees the realization of a dialogue table on international cooperation, specifically in cases of extradition in criminal matters and arrest and return of the property, among other topics of joint interest.
