Venezuela and Russia seal ‘fifth freedom’ agreement for their airlines

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency said that Russian and Venezuelan aviation authorities agreed to grant their airlines the right to fly from the Fifth Freedom of the Air to strengthen bilateral cooperation in air communications.

Russian airlines can operate flights on the Moscow-Varadero-Porlamar route and vice versa. In turn, flights of Venezuelan airlines will be able to cover the Caracas-Havana-Moscow route and vice versa.

The agreement of the aeronautical authorities is valid until the end of the summer 2024 IATA (International Air Transport Association) season.
