The executive secretary of the FSP, the Brazilian Monica Valente, said that on Jan. 28, they would carry out activities in commemoration of the Cuban national hero José Martí.

Subsequently, by the end of January next year, the Sao Paulo Forum will hold a symposium on Latin American and Caribbean integration in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires.

The activity will take place in the context of the Summit of Presidents of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

According to Valente, from Feb. 10 to 12, the continental organization will hold the first international meeting of publications of left-wing parties and movements promoted by the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).

The Brazilian activist also indicated that the next meeting of the working group of the continental organization would be held in the Colombian city of Bogotá.

In turn, at the closing ceremony of the FSP, the vice president for international affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Adán Chávez, highlighted the importance of the unity of the progressive forces at the continental level.

“As winds of freedom and sovereignty are blowing and will continue to blow in our continent (…) and without unity, we will not be able to achieve it, we must permanently call for it”, said Chávez.

The São Paulo Forum is a Latin American political platform integrated by the region’s ultra-left and left parties and forces.
