Brazil leaves patents in the hands of the “gringos” – and that could be a problem

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Data from the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) show how foreign countries, with the leadership of the United States, dominate patent registrations in the national territory. Of all the 26,921 requests for property titles in Brazil in 2021, only 19% were from Brazilian companies or citizens.
