Bolsonaro to attend UN General Assembly as part of his campaign plan

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, seeking an extension of his mandate in October, confirmed Tuesday that he would attend the UN General Assembly in September, hinting that he will use that platform to send "news" to Brazil during his campaign.

"Today I held the first session for the speech" to the United Nations General Assembly, which opens Sept. 20 at UN headquarters in New York, the head of state said in a "dialogue with candidates" organized by the National Union of Commerce and Services (Unecs).
