The President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, swore in yesterday, Thursday, the new Minister of Transportation, Diego Giuliano, who took office in replacement of the outgoing Alexis Guerrera, during a ceremony held in the White Hall of the Government House.
“I am sure that you are going to be a great minister, and I want to thank you for joining us in our government”, said the President, according to a press release from the Presidency.
In this context, Fernandez added: “We have a better time ahead of us, in which we are all going to work very unitedly, very together, because this country is going to stand up, I have no doubt”.
The Argentine president thanked Guerrera, the outgoing minister, for the “enormous work” carried out at the head of the portfolio, a work done “conscientiously and with unimpeachable honesty”.
For his part, Giuliano thanked the President “for having trusted” him and affirmed that his administration would be a “continuity in the Ministry of Transportation and the modernization plan of federal transportation”.
Giuliano served until today as Secretary of Transportation (deputy minister), so his appointment guarantees the continuity of the Ministry’s modernization plan, policy and management team, said the Presidency.
He had previously served as deputy executive director at the National Commission for Transportation Regulation (CNRT), a central state agency controlling cargo and passenger transportation.
In addition, he was a councilman of the city of Rosario, eastern province of Santa Fe, in two terms, 2009-2013 and 2013-2017.
