Argentina registered a historical record of US$100 billion in its exports of goods and services during 2022, the country’s Foreign Ministry highlighted today, Thursday, based on recent official statistical data.

“With exports of goods amounting to US$6.119 billion in the last month, the year closed with a total of US$88.446 billion and marked its historical maximum.”

“Once the values of services exports are published, the total exported will exceed 100 billion dollars for the first time in history”, informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, and Worship.

The data came from a report by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC), which showed a 13.5% inter-annual growth in Argentine exports and a 29% inter-annual growth in imports.

The value of goods exported last year surpassed the previous record reached more than a decade ago, in 2011.

In 2022, the South American country reported a trade surplus of US$6.923 billion, thus adding its third consecutive year with a surplus balance.

According to INDEC data, exports were the most important agricultural and livestock manufactured products, followed by primary products, industrial products, and fuels and energy.

Manufactures of industrial origin totaled US23.061 billion in dispatches and “registered the highest value since 2013,” it detailed.

Argentina’s main trading partners in 2022 were Brazil, China, and the United States.
