Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The popular weekly Karaokê Indie party is back at Casa da Matriz tonight with a special Batidão and Rave edition.
The eight-hour party will include the best of karaoke on the first floor and with menus featuring thousands of songs including everything from pop to rock to classics to indie, there is always something to sing about. Additionally tonight, there be thirty liters of batidão distributed throughout the party.
Meanwhile, above on the second floor, the Green Apple party will take over with the best of electronic and techno creating a very special rave atmosphere complete with neon paints, glow sticks, necklaces, bracelets and, of course, black lights.
Additionally during the night, promotions will include two for one specials on five drinks: caipirinha, caipivodka, Hi-fi, Cuba libre and Mojito.

Tonight Gávea’s chic club 00 (Zero Zero) will host the Black & Deep party with DJs Cris Fernandes, Caur, D-Ryder, Chaloub, and Felipe Fella spinning the best of hip-hop, tech house, deep house and nu disco throughout the night.

Copa Funk Party (Copacabana)
The Copa Funk Party is back at Fosfobox in Copacabana tonight as the venue continues to celebrate its 11th anniversary. Tonight DJs will spin the best of funk, hip-hop, and Latin rhythms. Additionally event promotions include unlimited caipifrutas from 11PM to 12AM. The venue began hosting anniversary events on the 15th and will continue to celebrate through the 25th.

Make Your Move (Arpoador)
Tonight the CAVE club in Arpoador will host the Make Your Move with DJs Ricardo Brautigam, Pathy Dejesus, Flipe Mustache, Fernando Schlaepfer, and Cacau Porto spinning throughout the night.

Lu Fogaça and Trio (Gamboa)
Tonight at Trapiche Gamboa it’s time for a roda de samba with Brazilian singer-songwriter Lu Fogaça and his trio. The group will blend modern music with samba, forró and MPB. They are well known for their reinterpretations of works by João Nogueira, João Bosco, Baden Powell, Vinicius de Moraes, Chico Buarque and Luiz Melodia, among others.

Alex Ribeiro and Papagaio Sabido (Centro)
At 7:30PM the band Papagaio Sabido will start off the night at Rio Scenarium by performing the best of Brazilian classics and hits. Singer Alex Ribeiro will then follow at 10:30PM with the best of classic samba and his own tribute to the samba schools of Rio.

Grupo Jola Rara and Cristina Bhering (Lapa)
Singer and guitarist Cristina Bhering will start things off tonight at 7:30PM at Carioca da Gema and the band Grupo Jola Rara will follow at 9:30PM with their powerful and lively samba.

On Wednesday nights in April, the Baile Da Tchuguderia party at Lapa’s Leviano bar is celebrating new music in Rio. Every week Angelo B, Udi Fagundes and Cláudio Costa, of the band Gabriel Pensador, will play live and welcome a special guest. DJ Chicote will also spin during the night.

The TANDEM Language exchange will take place at Blue Agave Copa tonight. The event involves language learning through conversations between speakers of different languages seated at various tables. This American-owned restaurant and bar on Copacabana Beach is a great place for food, drinks and entertainment. Every night, Tony Boka is performing live from 8PM until midnight. Boka is known for his varied repertoire that always pleases the crowd.

Those in search of the finest Asian fusion cuisine and some of the tastiest drinks in Rio, need look no further than Leblon’s Mekong. Tuesdays through Fridays, the restaurant offers executive lunches from 12PM to 4PM for R$29.50 and Happy Hour from 6PM to 8PM features drink specials including caipirinhas and caipikongs for R$9.50 and four Bohemias for the price of three.
