The Gavion class vessels were constructed by the U.S. shipyard VT Halter Marine in New Orleans, Louisiana.

These aluminum-built patrol boats, measuring 24.4 m in length, have a displacement of 48 tons and are armed with three 12.7 mm machine guns.

They operate on a Detroit Diesel 12 V92 TA engine, allowing for a range of 1,000 nm at 15 knots.

In 2014, an upgrade plan for these vessels was approved, featuring enhancements to the propulsion systems, electric power generation, navigational aids, and hull maintenance.
