The event is part of the Rio Novo Rock initiative which promotes Rio’s independent music scene and up-and-coming bands in the city.
Formed in Rio in 2013, The Highjack is scheduled to release their debut album later this year. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Gabriel Galled Moura, guitarist Matheus Cecatto, bassist Lucas Rohloff, and drummer Raphael Paci.
Influenced by British rock, grunge and Brazilian music, the band Pessoal da Nasa formed in 2011. They have released one EP and members include lead singer Dado Oliveira, bassist Gui Cavalcanti, and drummer Bruno Castro.
In addition to the live performances tonight, DJ Guzz will spin and VJ Luciano Cian will provide visuals.

Tonight Quintavant Qtv presents Rodrigo “Caçapa” and “Elefantes na Rua Nova” (“Elefantes on a New Street”), a double-album and new project by the composer, producer, and guitarist that blends the genre of Brazilian popular music with Baião and Côco to create unique, groundbreaking sounds.

It’s time again for the best of trap, twerk, bass, boom bap, deep house and techno as the Porn party returns to Fosfobox in Copacabana tonight. DJs Erik Skratch, Nobru Black, Michel Nox, and Marginal Mena will spin in the subsolo (basement) with Bernardo De Marsillac Romeiro Neto serving as master of ceremonies. Additionally, Breaking Leg’s, Bru Campos, and Pedro Piu will spin above at the Fosfobar during the night.

SuperFuzz Rock Club with KHAOS (Copacabana)
Tonight the Top of Pestana venue in Copacabana will host the SuperFuzz Rock Club with band KHAOS performing live. Additionally during the night, DJs Wilson Power, Ricardo Abrahin, Kleber Tuma and Jr. Mahr. will spin. The Top of Pestana, with its location on the rooftop of the Pestana Rio Atlântica hotel facing the famous Copacabana beach is a venue offers a unique and sophisticated environment. The space previously hosted Rio Music Conference (RMC) events and was home to the BudHotel events during last year’s World Cup tournament.

It’s time again for the Veneno party tonight at Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz. For over ten years the weekly events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio. Tonight will be no exception as DJs Tulio Araujo and Beto Artista will spin the best of rock and pop on the first floor and the Catraca party will take over the second floor during the night.

Tonight at Lapa’s Leviano bar it’s time to dance as the group Mano a Mano starts things off at 8PM with salsa and merengue on the first floor. Later on the second floor the weekly Forró Leviano party will present a live performance by Marcelo Mimoso. Additionally, DJ Angolano will spin salsa and DJ Léo Araripe will spin forró during the night.
