Following the success of the premier edition of the event last year during the World Cup, the Village Jockey Club festival began it’s second edition on June 4th. It will continue through Sunday, June 21st with both international and national musicians and bands performing live, as well as parties, food, food trucks and more.
Thus far the festival has hosted American rapper Jeremih, Brazillian DJs Tropkillaz, Brazillian singer Anitta and parties including a special Festa Junina with Preta Gil. Mapei will be the first performer during this, the third and final weekend of the festival.
Known for her hits “Don’t Wait” and “Change,” Mapei was last in Rio de Janeiro state as part of the lineup for the 2014 edition of the Ausländer Musik Festival, in Petrópolis.

Village Jockey Club with Mapei (Gávea)
Tonight the Village Jockey Club festival will present Swedish-American singer Mapei performing live. The festival began on June 4th in the Jockey Club do Rio de Janeiro in Gávea and will continue through the 21st with both international and national musicians and bands performing live, as well as parties, food, food trucks and more.

Feira Junina de Food Trucks (Recreio Dos Bandeirantes)
Today the Feira Junina de Food Trucks begins at Américas Shopping located in the neighborhood of Recreio Dos Bandeirantes. Running through Sunday, June 21th, the free-entry fair will celebrate the Festa Junina holidays with twenty food trucks and participants including Bibocaft, Burgertopia, Contrabando beertruck, Paris Gourmet Food Truck, Ribz Truck and The Pub Truck, among others.

It’s time again for the best of tech and deep b-sides, hip hop and rap as the B-side and Xarpi parties return to Fosfobox in Copacabana. During the second joint edition of the parties tonight, DJs Andre Menezes, Saraiva, Tucho and Ambassobor will spin on the Xarpi stage with Maria Guerra and Carol Otero on the mics during the night while DJs Rafael Lima, Chester Cave, Breaking Leg’s, Gustavo Reinert, Trescalle, JPhillips and Minimal Toy will spin on the B-side stage.

Move to Rock (Copacabana)
Tonight the Top of Pestana venue in Copacabana will host the Move to Rock party with DJs Muniz, Daniel Teruz, and Wilson Power spinning the best of rock during the night. With its location on the rooftop of the Pestana Rio Atlântica hotel facing the famous Copacabana beach, the Top of Pestana venue offers a unique and sophisticated environment. The space previously hosted Rio Music Conference (RMC) events and was home to the BudHotel events during last year’s World Cup tournament.

It’s time again for the Veneno party tonight at Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz. For over ten years the weekly events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio. Tonight at Lapa’s Leviano bar it’s time to dance as the group Mano a Mano starts things off at 8PM with salsa and merengue on the first floor.
