Three Brazilian Banks Among Global Top 500 Valuable Brands

In 2024, Itaú, Banco do Brasil (BB), and Bradesco are ranked within the world’s 500 most valuable brands.

This report comes from Brand Finance and was presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on January 17.

Banco do Brasil stands out, jumping 50 places since 2023. This leap marks it as the fastest-growing Brazilian brand in value.

On the other hand, Itaú and Bradesco saw drops in their positions, falling 21 and 12 spots, respectively.

Despite this, Itaú remains Brazil’s top brand, valued at US$ 8.3 billion.

This year’s findings echo a global pattern. Banking leads the brand value chart. This sector includes 71 banks, making up 14.2% of the list.

Retail and tech sectors are next, forming 20.6% of the leading companies.

Globally, Apple is the most valuable at US$ 516.6 billion. Microsoft and Google are next, valued at US$ 340.4 billion and US$ 333.4 billion, respectively.

Amazon, last year’s leader, is now fourth.

Most of the top 500 brands are in ten countries. The U.S. alone hosts 40.2% of these brands.

China has 65 names in the top 500, while France and Japan each have 33, Germany 28, and the UK 20.

Brand value and market value are different. Brand value is about earning from customer views.

For market value, Microsoft now leads over Apple.

As of January, Microsoft is worth US$ 2.9 trillion, slightly more than Apple’s US$ 2.8 trillion.
