RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The 2013 Rio Restaurant Week is on again for its eighth edition, and will last until Sunday, June 2nd. The Rio Restaurant Week is a great way to try many different new eateries while they offer special combinations of their finest dishes, with this year over sixty restaurants participating.
Meals for the Rio Restaurant Week consist of an entry course, a main dish and dessert; costing R$34.90 over lunch and R$47.90 for dinner. There will always be two dishes in each course to choose from, with drinks and services (usually ten percent) not included in the price.
Among the participating venues are restaurants as diverse as Mekong offering Asian fusion cuisine in Leblon, French-owned Oui Oui in Humaitá and contemporary Brazilian Rancho Inn in Centro. Thus, the Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to get to know the culinary diversity in Rio and try new dishes.
Apart from that, this year’s Rio Restaurant Week also has a social aspect to it, as R$1 per meal will be donated to the Ayrton Senna Foundation, a foundation for children’s education.
The popular Restaurant Week, which originated in New York, is celebrated in one hundred cities throughout the world and is gaining in popularity everywhere.
