Frontman for the band Dinosaur Jr, Mascis will perform his solo works tonight. As a solo artist, Mascis has released six albums since 1996. The most recent album, Tied to a Star, came out in August of 2014.
Brazilian lo-fi band, The John Candy Experience will start off the night. Circo Voador gates will open at 7PM.

It’s time once again for the best of house, electro, and pop as the twelve-hour Duo party returns to Gávea’s chic 00 (Zero Zero) club tonight. DJs Fabiano Pax and Marcia Bertonni usually start the party at 5PM by spinning outside on the deck and DJs Mor Rafael Calvente, Dri Toscano and guests follow, spinning inside throughout the night until 5AM Monday morning.

Roda de Samba and Football with Ballet 2 Passistas (Football) (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Ballet 2 playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others.

It’s time to dance as singer-songwriter Rogê returns for his weekly show at Lapa’s Carioca de Gema. The lively performer will present his own compositions as well as covers of works by Jorge, Djavan, and Jorge Benjor, among others.

Speakeasy Party @ Saloon 79 (Botafogo)
Celebrating the 20s and the rebellion against prohibition, Saloon 79 in Botafogo will host the Speakeasy Party tonight. They’ll be offering all the drinks once banned, snacks and great music. The Digga Digga Duo, Nadia Funes, Carolina Leite, and Swing Out Studio will perform live and DJs Helena Martins, Rodrigo Lopes, Joyce Mendes, Gabriela Aguiar, and Jorge Oliveira will spin during the night.
