Sunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Today beginning at 2PM it’s time for the best of music, food, culture and more as the BIG UP! party returns for its fourth edition.
Taking place in street and on the deck of Port Pirata in Praça da Bandeira, the event will feature PH KBrum on the mic, DJs Nitcho, Bives Selecta, and Kaja Man of the Sistema de Som spinning the best of reggae and dancehall and the RudMon Crew will dancing live.
Additionally, there will be Jamaican jerk Food and there will be live painting and graffiti.

Jazz no Morro (Cantagalo)
Today and tonight, the weekly Jazz no Morro event returns to Gilda in Cantagalo. The group Tudo é Jazz with guitarist Marcus Nabuco, keyboardist Dudu Viana, bassist Weslwn Lima, and drummer Renato Endrigo will perform live. Additionally, DJ João Santiago will spin during the event.

Tonight, bands Cafefrio and Cafe Republica will perform live in Audio Rebel in Botafogo.

Hari Bol (Centro)
The premiere of the Brazilian music festival Hari Bol will be held at Arco do Teles tonight. Scheduled to take place every two weeks in the future, the debut of the free event tonight will feature DJ Du’Jorge and guests DJs Gui Ferreira and Matheus Marins spinnig the best of Brazilian music including funk, bossa nova, Tropicália, baião, rock, forró, quadrilha, samba and Carnival marchinhas. Shots of cachaça with honey and cachaça with jambu will be distributed throughout the event and movies and videos will be projected (muted) during the party.

Duo (Gávea)
It’s time once again for the best of house, electro, and pop as the twelve-hour Duo party returns to Gávea’s chic 00 (Zero Zero) club. DJs will start the party around 5PM by spinning on the deck and more DJs will follow, spinning inside throughout the night until 5AM Monday morning.

Today and tonight, Porto Pirata will host the fourth edition of the Big Up! party. Featured events and performances will include DJs Nitcho, Bives Selecta, and Kaja Man of the Sistema de Som spinning the best of reggae and dancehall; the RudMon Crew dancing; PH KBrum on the mic; Jamaican Jerk food and live painting and graffiti.

Roda de Samba and Football with Ballet 2 Passistas (Football) (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Ballet 2 playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others. Additionally, DJ Mukato will spin during show intervals.

It’s time to dance as singer-songwriter Rogê returns for his weekly show at Lapa’s Carioca de Gema. The lively performer will present his own compositions as well as covers of works by Jorge, Djavan, and Jorge Benjor, among others.
