On Political Party PSL, Bolsonaro Says That Any Marriage is Susceptible to Divorce
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Otávio Rêgo Barros, spokesman for the President of the Republic, said yesterday, October 14th, that President Jair Bolsonaro is still assessing the PSL state of affairs and even compared the relationship with the party to a “divorceable” marriage.

On Friday, October 11th, Bolsonaro, and 21 other party legislators requested the national directorate to provide information on PSL accounts.
“The president is reviewing the situation regarding his position in relation to the PSL on a day-to-day basis, and he is using his usual metaphor: ‘any marriage is subject to divorce,'” the spokesperson said to journalists during a press conference at the Palácio do Planalto.
Earlier, the government leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Major Vitor Hugo, who met with the president after the lawyers, said Bolsonaro and the group of legislators want greater transparency from the party in the use of party resources.
The spokesperson for the Palácio do Planalto reiterated this same position by the President of the Republic and noted that he had not used any money from the party fund during his electoral campaign last year.
According to Rêgo Barros, Bolsonaro again said that he wants the PSL as a party reference for transparency and good practices.
“What the president wants is for the PSL to be a reference as a transparent political party, which shows itself to society as different. One must be able to go deeper into the party’s evaluations and confirm them,” he added.
