Lusophone countries’ exports to Macau rise by nearly two-thirds in January
Official data released this week indicated that merchandise exports from Portuguese-speaking countries to Macau rose 65.1% in January compared to the same month in 2022.
The value exported by Portuguese-speaking countries to the territory was €14.6 million in January, according to Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Most goods came from Brazil, worth €11.6 million, mainly meat, fish, and seafood.

Macau also bought goods worth €3 million from Portugal, including clothing and accessories, alcoholic beverages, and pharmaceutical products.
According to the same data provided by Lusa, the bloc of Portuguese-speaking countries did not buy any goods from Macau in January.
In the same month last year, the region recorded exports worth about €6.8 million for Portuguese-speaking countries.
Merchandise exports by Macau in January were €103.7 million, down 37.2% compared to the same period in 2022.
