Lula’s “hate cabinet”

By · April 25, 2023 · 2 min read

For four years, supporters of the Workers’ Party (PT) and other leftist parties have accused Jair Bolsonaro of maintaining a “hate cabinet” to spread false news and unfounded accusations against his opponents supposedly.

Bolsonaro and allies were included in the still inconclusive “fake news inquiry,” opened at the Supreme Court (STF) by Justice Alexandre de Moraes.

However, the PT supporters now have their “hate cabinet”.

A report by O Estado de S.Paulo published on the newspaper’s website on Monday 24 shows that the team that takes care of President Lula’s pages keeps a network of hundreds of WhatsApp groups mobilized to “spread content” and “government agendas” and attack Bolsonaro and right-wing allies.

Created during the electoral campaign, these WhatsApp groups are managed by the “office” that takes care of the website “lula.com.br“, announced by the PT as Lula’s official website before he was elected, according to the report.

On the site, the PT members say that the movement on the networks brings together more than 25,000 volunteers who call themselves “fake news hunters.”

In this message, fired on March 29, the PT groups claim that Bolsonaro has committed a series of crimes and call for “jail” for the former president.

HATE CABINET

A message against Jair Bolsonaro

In the pro-Lula groups, dozens of messages are posted to “clarify” and refute negative information about the president.

One of the examples cited by Estadão is Lula’s statement that the PCC’s plan to kill Senator Sergio Moro (União-PR) was “another frame-up” by the former Lava Jato judge.

The PT groups then created the “five steps” to clarify the “lies being told about Lula x Moro.

A message favorable to Lula in PT groups

To Estadão, the Secretariat of Communication of the Presidency of the Republic said it does not care for the site www.lula.com.br and, therefore, “has no jurisdiction over the administration of the channel, as well as the content produced and published.

The agency said it only manages the official Twitter of the president.

The PT has yet to comment.
