Heat, overcrowding and a lot of hits: check out how was Carnival weekend around Brazil

Carnival Sunday was busy across the country.

In Rio de Janeiro, renowned “blocos” took to the streets like Bangalafumenga, Cordão do Boitatá, and Simpatia É Quase Amor.

Bloco da Areia celebrated its 20th anniversary with a lot of animation in the southern part of the capital.

The parades spread throughout all the regions of the city and took millions of revelers under a heat of 31ºC.

The revelers on the streets of São Paulo experienced the opposite thermal sensation.

The capital registered rain all day and temperatures that did not exceed 23º C (according to Climatempo).

The highlights of the day were the Bem Sertanejo block, of Michel Teló, in Faria Lima, the ‘Bloco da Pabllo’ that drew crowds in Ibirapuera Park and had to be interrupted an hour before by overcrowding, and the #QuilomboLAB, by Emicida, which ended half an hour after the determined.

In the Sambadrome, the Special Group parades ended on Saturday and began on Sunday in Sapucaí.

In Salvador, big names of the national Carnival paraded through the circuits: Daniela Mercury, Brown, Xanddy Harmonia, and BaianaSystem.

Singer Claudia Leitte took the crowd to Barra-Ondina with a repertoire full of hits and special appearances by Flor Gil and Vitão.

Carla Perez made the nostalgic happy and participated in the children’s block dressed in the iconic costume of É O Tchan!

The first lady Janja was also present at the carnival boxes in Bahia.

The most ‘root’ Carnival of the country is in the Northeast.

Recife received many marching groups on Sunday, spread throughout 44 poles in the city.

In Olinda, the highlight was the superheroes and villains in the Carnival blocks ‘Enquanto Isso na Sala da Justiça’ and ‘Mucha Lucha’.

This Monday, Olinda receives the giant puppets.
