Touring in support of their Grammy-nominated album, Give The People What they Want, tonight’s show will be one of four stops in Brazil.
In addition to Sharon Jones, the Dap-Kings lineup currently consists of Gabriel Roth (Bosco Mann) on bass, Neal Sugarman on sax, Homer Steinwess on drums, Fernando Velez on percussion, Binky Griptite and Joe Crispiano on guitars, Dave Guy on trumpet, Cochemea Gastelum on baritone sax and the vocalists Saundra Williams and Starr Duncan.

Food Truck Festival (Barra da Tijuca)
The Food Truck Festival continues its fourth edition today. Running through Sunday, May 31st at Village Mall in Barra da Tijuca, the festival features twenty food trucks and vendors selling a wide variety of food, drinks, wines and beers.

O Teatro Mágico (Lapa)
Tonight O Teatro Mágico will make a stop in Circo Voador as part of their ongoing 2015 “O Tudo Numa Coisa Só” tour in celebration of their 11th year. During those years, the group has released four studio albums, one live album, and three DVDs, selling more than over three million albums combined and over 450,000 DVDs combined. The current lineup of the group includes Fernando Anitelli, on vocals and guitar; Daniel Santiago as musical director and guitarist; Serginho Carvalho on bass. Rafael dos Santos on drums; Ricardo Braga on percussion; Guilherme Ribeiro on keyboards;, and performance artists Andrea Barbour and Kátia Tortorella.

Tonight the Top of Pestana venue in Copacabana will host the Timeless party with DJs Meme and Márcio Careca spinning the best of deep house, funk, house, and disco. DJs on two stages will spin the best of axé, classic funk and more tonight as Teatro Odisséia in Lapa hosts the Trash Party tonight. One the first stage, DJs Marcelo Haubrich, Bruno Mozka, and Ingrid Gründig will spin on the best of brega, funk, axé, 90s pop, and more while DJs Felipe Malfoy and Rick Castro spin the best of pop, hits, dance and pop rock on the second stage. The Propaganda party arrives in Rio de Janeiro tonight, bringing with it the very best of indie music from Haim to Lana Del Ray to Lorde to Mumford and Sons and everything in between. The Lapafest party returns to the Leviano bar in Lapa tonight with singer Marcelle Motta starting things off tonight on the first floor with the best of samba and MPB including his reinterpretations of the works of João Nogueira, Zeca Pagodinho, Jorge Aragão, and Djavan, among others. Bloco Picada de Primeira will follow with more MPB and samba, soul, funk and samba reggae. On the second floor, the power trio Johnny’s will perform the best of International pop rock.
