Founded by Mark Jansen formerly of After Forever, with the current lead singer Simone Simons, Epica has received comparisons to early Nightwish. They arrive tonight in support of their sixth full-length studio album, The Quantum Enigma.
Before Epica, the British band DragonForce will deliver the best of power metal to start the night.
The house will open at 6:30PM, DragonForce will perform at 7:30PM, and Epica is scheduled to perform at 9PM.

Ocupação ARTE SONORA (Flamengo)
Today the Ocupação ARTE SONORA begins at Castelinho Do Flamengo in Flamengo. Running for two months, through April 26th, the program will feature live performances, DJs, artists, lectures and more on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Metal will take over Fundição Progresso in Lapa tonight as the Dutch symphonic metal band Epica will return to play live and the British power metal band DragonForce will open.

Haus of Monsters #1 (Centro)
Bringing all of the little monsters together in Rio, Espaço Acústica in Centro will host the first edition of the Haus of Monsters party tonight. DJs Felipe Malfoy and Felipe Cerqueira will spin the best of Lady Gaga and all things pop on the first floor while DJs Rick Castro, Ivvys Santos, and Vino will spin pop, funk and hits on the second floor. The first 100 people to arrive at the party will receive welcome shots and Rebecca Foxx will perform covers live during the night.

The Rockaway party returns to Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz tonight for its 27th edition. Lapafest (Lapa)
The Lapafest party returns to the Leviano bar in Lapa tonight. Singer Mar César will start things off with samba, MPB, soul, and samba-reggae. Then, singer Gabby Moura will follow with the best of the best of samba and pagode. On the second floor, trio Johnny’s will perform the best of international rock and pop. Additionally during the night, DJs Márlio and Aílton Areas will spin between shows.
