Farfetch adopts payment via cryptocurrencies in Brazil

Farfetch, a luxury fashion platform, announced that it would adopt as a payment method six cryptocurrencies.

Some of them are Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and USD Coin (USDC), which will be used in Farfetch Marketplace for customers in 37 countries, including Brazil.

Upon purchase, customers can scan a QR Code through a crypto wallet.

The company will also offer cryptocurrency payment capabilities for luxury brand customers, resulting in a soon-to-be-launched partnership with Stadium Goods.

The platform is a signatory to the Crypto Climate Accord (CCA), inspired by the Paris Climate Accord, a private sector initiative for the crypto community focused on decarbonizing the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.

The CCA aims to decarbonize the global cryptocurrency industry by prioritizing climate management and supporting the industry’s transition to zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

According to Farfetch’s Marketplace Director Edward Sabbagh, innovation is at the core of the company’s business.

The goal is to deploy new technologies that provide an enhanced shopping experience for customers.

“We are excited to offer cryptocurrencies as a payment option for those using the Farfetch Marketplace.

“Cryptocurrencies are growing in importance for luxury customers, and we couldn’t help but implement this option for our consumers,” comments Edward.
