Brazil’s Itapema Debuts World’s Only Hard Rock Cafe Over Water
Hard Rock Cafe is set to open a groundbreaking new location in Itapema, Santa Catarina, along Brazil’s scenic coastline.
This new establishment, nestled in the innovative Oporto Pier, marks the franchise’s seventh branch in Brazil.
It stands out as the world’s only Hard Rock Cafe located over the water, offering a stunning 360-degree ocean view.
In addition, spanning 1,200 square meters, this venue promises a unique dining experience.
Brazil’s new Hard Rock Cafe makes Santa Catarina the second state with multiple locations, joining Rio Grande do Sul. Previously, the franchise opened in Florianópolis, the state capital.

The Oporto Pier, where the cafe will reside, stretches over 18,274.29 square meters. It will be the first in Latin America to feature underground parking, accommodating 226 vehicles.
The pier will also offer parking for 50 boats and include commercial spaces such as shops, additional restaurants, and eight kiosks.
It will feature a rooftop event space, a Ferris wheel, communal areas, and a gym—all overlooking the sea. Construction of the Oporto Pier began in December 2023.
Transformative Development in Itapema
A consortium of developers, including MayBelly Incorporadora, R7 Participações, Pantanal Negócios Imobiliários, and RGS Engenharia, funds and manages the project.
The pile driving, one of the most challenging phases, was completed on May 22. This moved the project into the foundational stage.
The establishment of this unique Hard Rock Cafe not only enriches the local tourist landscape but also exemplifies innovative architectural and engineering feats.
However, this positions Itapema as a growing hotspot for international visitors and entertainment seekers.
This venture underscores the blending of leisure, culture, and modern infrastructure, contributing significantly to the region’s economic and social vitality.
By situating such an iconic brand in a remarkable setting, Itapema is poised to offer a memorable experience.
In short, this highlights the evolving dynamics of global leisure and tourism trends.
