Brazil’s Fortaleza Airport Expands Direct Flights to Paris with Air France

Fraport Brasil has announced an increase in direct flights from Pinto Martins International Airport in Fortaleza to Paris. Air France will operate five weekly flights starting October 17.

The flights will arrive at 5:30 PM and depart at 7:35 PM local time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Currently, the route uses an Airbus A350-900, which can carry 292 passengers. From October 28, Boeing 777-200 aircraft will take over, increasing capacity to 328 passengers.

The new schedule will see arrivals at 4:00 PM and departures at 6:10 PM local time. Pedro Navega, head of commercial aviation at Fraport Brasil, believes this expansion solidifies Fortaleza‘s position as a strategic hub for European connections.

He predicts that by December 2024, this route will achieve the highest passenger numbers in the history of Brazil’s Northeast region.

To meet the growing demand from tourists visiting Ceará during the summer high season, Azul Linhas Aéreas has added 94 extra flights to the state.

This move aims to improve access for visitors and boost Ceará’s tourism sector, a key economic driver in the region.

In addition, the Ceará government reports that Fortaleza and Jericoacoara will have better connections on strategic routes starting in December.

Fortaleza will gain 38 additional flights on the Fortaleza-Campinas route and 37 more on the Fortaleza-Belo Horizonte route. Both are important hubs for Azul flights.

Jericoacoara Regional Airport, a popular destination for both Brazilian and foreign tourists, will receive 19 additional flights. These flights will connect the city to the capital of Minas Gerais.
