Brazil: Michelle Bolsonaro’s mission

Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro will be touring the country to encourage women’s political participation.

The announcement was made through a video posted on Instagram of the Liberal Party directory in the Federal District on Monday 27.

“We will travel around Brazil with the agenda of women, disability and rare mothers,” said Michelle, alongside federal deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF).

The congresswoman added that the initiative intends to “train women”.

Michelle was announced as the national president of PL Mulher on February 15th by the party’s president, Valdemar Costa Neto.

On occasion, the former first lady talked about the multiple roles that women can play:

“The woman has a special look. She can be wherever she wants. She can be a mother, work in politics, and do several activities.”

Michelle’s name was once seen in the PL as an alternative to Bolsonaro to run for the Presidency of the Republic in 2026, but she has ruled out the intention to run.

MICHELLE BOLSONARO’S TEAM

Michelle wants Nilmar Ruiz, mayor of Palmas between 2001 and 2004 and former congressman, on her team.

Nilmar is the national coordinator of PL Mulher and one of the leaders closest to the former first lady.

The former mayor has been attending meetings with Michelle and deepening party strategies.
