The Brazilian Music Award will be relaunched and announces nominees

The Brazilian Music Award, an event born in 1987 to celebrate the country's musical production, will be relaunched in 2023 after three years without the awards.

The ceremony will be on May 31 at the Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro.

The Award was created by José Maurício Machline, marketing manager at Sharp, a family-owned company that trades and distributes electronic items.

It was born as Sharp Award and kept this name for over a decade - until 1998.

It was also called Caras Award and TIM Music Award until it got its current name.
