Pelé is no longer responding to chemotherapy and will receive palliative care

Admitted since Tuesday (Nov. 29) in a São Paulo hospital, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, Pelé, is no longer responding to chemotherapy treatment.

According to Folha de S. Paulo newspaper, Pelé is receiving palliative treatments.

On Friday (Dec. 2), Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein released a note informing that the King of Football had been diagnosed with a respiratory infection.

He had been admitted to the hospital for re-evaluation of the chemotherapy therapy for his colon tumor, identified in September 2021.

Palliative care is the active and integral health care provided to a person with a severe, progressive, and life . . .
