RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The controversial Covid passes are to be scrapped in England later this month as the Omicron wave in the country continues to recede, it was reported today.

Health Minister Sajid Javid reportedly told MPs he shared their “instinctive unease” about the certificates, which 100 Tories voted against.

Ministers are also keen to scrap the widely used work-from-home guidelines when the current Plan B measures are reviewed on January 26. That could mean the mask requirement on public transportation and in stores will be the only remaining restriction.

Previously, Javid on Thursday reduced to five the number of days people have to self-isolate if they test positive for Covid in England.
