One in seven vaccinated Americans no longer talks to friends who disagree with Covid vaccines -survey

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to polling firm OnePoll, vaccination has become one of the most divisive issues driving wedges between people. Fourteen percent cited vaccination as a reason for ending friendships, 16% blamed political differences, and 15% said their friend was dating their ex-partner.

Other reasons included finding out their friends were liars (7%) and friends making up stories about them (12%). Pharmaceutical Technology rounds up the unexpected adverse events covid-19 side effects and so far associated with the six World Health Organization (WHO)-approved vaccines.

Many have cut friends out of their lives during the pandemic, and for those who have decided to get vaccinated, opinions about vaccines are often the deciding factor, a new poll in the United States found.

The survey, conducted earlier this month by polling firm OnePoll, found that 16% of respondents had ended at least three friendships in the past year and a half. About 14% of vaccinated Americans said they had broken off relationships with friends who refused to be vaccinated.

In fact, vaccinated respondents were nearly four times more likely to end friendships during the pandemic than those who chose not to be vaccinated (66% to 17%).

The survey found that 97% of those vaccinated considered their former friends “total vaccine opponents” who could never understand the importance of the Covid-19 vaccines…

Hollywood has apparently blessed the idea of getting rid of friends who refuse to vaccinate. Actress Jennifer Aniston, ironically a star of the television series “Friends,” said last month in an interview with InStyle magazine that she had ended relationships with people who refused to get vaccinated or would not tell her their vaccination status.

“It’s really a shame,” she said. “I just lost a couple of people in my weekly routine.”
According to OnePoll, 81% of Democrats surveyed are fully vaccinated, compared with 64% of Republicans and 69% of independents.

About 57% of Republicans and 41% of Democrats believe society is “too critical” of unvaccinated Americans.
