RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Chief of Staff of the Brazilian Army, General Valério Stumpf Trindade, accompanied by his entourage, was present at Eurosatory 2022 in Paris, supporting Brazilian companies and learning about the latest technologies and solutions of interest to the Army.

In the Brazilian Pavilion, a space that is an initiative of Abimde (Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materials Industries) together with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Export Promotion Agency), the Brazilian company AEL Sistemas received Stumpf and his entourage when they were informed about the current status of the RDS-Defesa project, a software-defined radio that is in the final phase of development, under the management and supervision of the Army Technological Center – CTEx.

Initiatives related to the company’s communication, command and control systems were also presented.

At IDV’s Italian-Brazilian stand, General Stumpf saw the company’s portfolio of military vehicles and came across an old acquaintance, the 02 prototype of the 6×6 Guarani, which has the distinction of being the only “Italian” Guarani, as all the others were and are manufactured in Sete Lagoas, Brazil.

Stumpf also looked closely at the Centauro II armored vehicle, one of the candidates for the current VBC CAV 8×8 competition, which aims to provide the Brazilian Army with an 8×8 combat vehicle never seen before.

At the booth of Israel’s Elbit Systems, Stumpf attended a demonstration of Elbit’s capabilities in Command and Control, Communications, and Battlefield Management, core technologies already familiar to the Brazilian Marine Corps, a user of the C4I solution, with the application of advanced technologies in combination with commercial hardware and software packages.

The systems use a tactical building block approach to connect various applications and command execution levels in a network-centric concept.

Configurations include tactical computers, digital maps, message processing systems, border surveillance, advanced communication controllers and modems, and various components developed for specific customer needs.
