Brazil: Weapon seized with suspect of threatening Lula da Silva is compressed air gun

The future Brazilian Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, published on his Twitter profile that the police arrested Júnior do Ferro Velho, suspected of threatening the elected president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in Caruaru, state of Pernambuco (PE).

The image shows a compressed air gun seized by the Federal Police.

To the police, the investigated claimed that the recording was a joke and that he had no intention of posting it on social media.

He said he ended up unintentionally releasing the video on WhatsApp. Velho — who has a CAC license (collector, sport shooter and hunter) — even handed over a 9mm pistol to the Federal Police (PF).

According to the police, an investigation will be launched in order to determine the facts. He can answer for threat and incitement to crime.
