Brazil: rent increases 5.66% in one year

Brazil followed a leap in rents with the rise in the economy's basic interest rates and real estate financing rates.

In the 12 months to February, the asking price for new leases rose 17.05% on average in 25 Brazilian cities, according to the FipeZap+ Index, which tracks the average variation in the price of ready-to-rent apartments in 50 Brazilian cities, based on ads posted on the internet.

The Index registered a nominal advance of 5.66% in residential prices in the last 12 months ended in March 2023.
