Daniel Ortega delivers new Russian buses to transport cooperatives in Nicaragua

Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega led the ceremony of delivery of the buses to the country’s transport cooperatives on Wednesday, May 24.

During the event, held in the capital Managua and also attended by Vice President Rosario Murillo, Ortega said that the donation of the vehicles takes place “at a time when there in Russia, in Moscow and other cities, events are being held for sovereignty, for peace, for development […] even to strengthen cultural ties”.

The President specified that with this second batch, there are already 300 vehicles sent by Russia so far in 2023, donated by Moscow to improve the transportation service in the country.

“In 2023, we are incorporating 300 new Russian PAZ model buses.”

“Of these 300 new buses, 150 were delivered in January, and today, May 24, on the anniversary of Commander Pomares’ passing to immortality, in his honor, we are delivering 150 more Russian buses to the transportation companies for the service of the people, completing the 300”.

He asserted that Russia and China are currently “the great drivers” of the world working to strengthen the regional fronts that have been developed, among them the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

“Russia and China are the great drivers right now to strengthen the other fronts that have been developing, including here in Latin America and the Caribbean, the CELAC because they have been approaching to work without conditions.”

“And that is why we can assure that a new reality is taking shape in the world, where imperialist hegemony will be buried.”

“Democracy among peoples, respect for sovereignty and cooperation will be established, taking into account the asymmetries”, said the President.

Ortega declared that these new blocs “which are on the rise” formed by countries far from the dictates of the West “are already determining the new course in the history of humanity”.
