Remittances by Portuguese emigrants in PALOP countries set a record and rose 4.9% to €3.89 billion

Remittances by Portuguese emigrants in 2022 set a record, rising 4.9% to €3.892 billion, with citizens in the Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP) sending almost €320 million, 21.7% more than in 2021, according to the Bank of Portugal.

Portuguese workers in the PALOP countries sent to Portugal €317.06 million last year, representing an increase of 21.69% compared to €260.5 million sent in 2021.

As usual, almost all come from Angola, the African country most sought after by the Portuguese in terms of work.

Thus, emigrants in Angola sent the last year €308.64 million . . .
