Brazil: Lula da Silva meets this Monday with the US Security Advisor

President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) met this Monday (5), at 10:30 am, in Brasília, with the National Security Advisor of the United States, Jake Sullivan.

In a note, the US embassy said that the meeting will follow up on Joe Biden’s phone call to the PT in October.

“Sullivan will discuss how the United States and Brazil can continue to work together to address common challenges, including climate change, food security, promoting inclusion and democracy, and managing regional migration,” the US embassy said in the note.

“The meetings will follow up on President Biden’s phone call to President-elect Lula da Silva in October 2022, in which the President pledged to keep communication channels open between the two countries during the transition,” he added.

The US entourage will also meet with PT senator Jaques Wagner, quoted to assume a ministry.

They will also meet with the current Secretary of Strategic Affairs, Admiral Flávio Rocha.
