“Chile is losing investment”: Andrónico Luksic calls for an agreement on a new “urgent” Constitution
“In order to reactivate the economy and grow again, certainties are needed,” said the billionaire. This Friday, again, the political world will meet to try to unlock the process, currently trapped in the mechanism to draft the text.
This Friday morning, Andrónico Luksic asked the political world to agree as soon as possible to start the path towards a new Constitution.
The billionaire used his Twitter account to affirm that, in his opinion, “it is urgent that an agreement be reached regarding the constituent process.”

“In order to reactivate the economy and grow again, certainties are needed,” he argued.
“Chile is losing foreign and domestic investment as long as that mystery is not cleared up. We are going for a new Constitution, well done”, closed Andrónico Luksic.
Chile is going through a complex economic scenario: the Imacec for October fell 1.2% and was lower than the indicator for August (-0.4). There are already two consecutive months of contraction.
In addition, unemployment remains at 8% and the OECD left Chile on the list of the six countries in the group that will experience a recession.
AT THE REQUEST OF ANDRÓNICO LUKSIC, WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR THE NEW CONSTITUTION?
This Friday the parties with political representation in Congress will meet again to talk about it.
The process is trapped and while the ruling party defends that the mechanism be 100% elected, Chile Vamos does not support that option and looks at alternatives that include experts or designated delegates.
In conversation with Radio Bío Bío this morning, Deputy Diego Ibáñez (CS) indicated that Chile Vamos will present three proposals at the meeting.
Along with that, he said that he was “playing it” because between today and tomorrow Saturday white smoke would come out, recalling the commitment launched by the opposition bloc to change the Constitution anyway if the Rejection won.
In that ten-point text, the social and democratic rule of law was included.
Sunday marks three months of the plebiscite, where the Rejection swept 7,868,295 votes over the 4,823,058 of the Approval.
To enable a new constitutional process, a reform to the current text must be approved, which requires 4/7 in both houses of Congress.
Since the ruling party does not have that amount of control in Parliament, it needs to reach an agreement with the rest of the forces.
