Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Wednesday nights will never be the same after the success of last weeks first edition of Jazz Manifest at 00 (Zero Zero) in Gávea. Producer Marcela Moura decided it was time to bring more jazz to Rio when she conceptualized the project, with the aim of bringing live, quality music to one of the city’s most stylish venues.
Tonight will feature the band Made in China, featuring Iuri Nicolsky. His compositions are a blend of exotic Eastern melodies and jazz with influences like funk rhythms and African beats, with an emphasis on groove and improvisation. The group’s musical style is something very different from what you have heard on the current circuit.

The Zona Sul (South Zone) of Rio de Janeiro will host Jazz Manifest for a weekly dose of delectable jazz bits at 00 in Gávea. This week, Nicolsky Quarteto will perform with DJ JR Mahr during the intervals.
