The factors responsible for malnutrition in Africa

By · October 26, 2021 · 2 min read

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Malnutrition in Africa has drawn the attention of the World Health Organization W.H.O.). As reported, about six million children are currently malnourished in Central and West Africa.

Several attempts were made to create an entertaining platform, including sports, into the continent. Hence, the launch of sport predictions websites like Liontips. Although this may not have provided the adequate diet needed, it helped ease the mental stress.

As saddening as the situation has been, it had prompted scientists to research the cause of this rising malnutrition, and poor diet was discovered as the major factor or cause.

Another main factor is the lack of employment. Parents face many challenges in providing daily meals, especially pregnant women. During pregnancy, the hormone will trigger hunger than usual, but mothers barely respond to this need when there is a lack of food.

Only a few are aware of the critical age of a child, which is between birth and two years. This period is sensitive and can cause a baby to grow stunted or wasted in the future. Hence, many health care workers today encourage proper breastfeeding.

The mother ensures to consume the adequate nutrients in the right proportion to give the child rich breast milk.

Wrapping up, illiteracy is another factor causing malnourishment. With the high birth rate, most families’ income cannot feed the number of people therein.

Hence, organizations and regulatory bodies take it upon themselves to enlighten families about birth control measures such as family planning.
