Traffic Restrictions Set for Rio’s Fluminense Game

CET-Rio has designed a special traffic layout for the Fluminense vs. Cruzeiro soccer match. The game is on Wednesday at 9:30 PM in Maracanã Stadium.

To manage the crowd, multiple streets near the stadium will close.

From 7 PM to 1 AM, key roads will shut down. These include Professor Eurico Rabelo Street and Visconde de Itamarati.

Isidro de Figueiredo, Conselheiro Olegário, and Artur Menezes will also be inaccessible. Furthermore, Maracanã Avenue and Rei Pelé Avenue will face partial closures.

Between 11 PM and 1 AM, expect additional closures. Affected roads include Professor Manoel de Abreu Avenue and Dona Zulmira Street.

Accordingly, traffic signals will adapt to ease congestion. A team of 55, including traffic agents and support, will monitor the situation.

They’ll use seven vehicles, eight motorcycles, and 15 message boards to guide drivers.

Alternate routes are available. Use Paulo de Frontin and Dr. Satamini for downtown and South Zone visitors.

Similarly, Major Ávila and Felipe Camarão are suggested for Vila Isabel and Grajaú. Tijuca commuters should opt for Conde de Bonfim – Haddock Lobo.

Residents near the stadium can use Av. Paula Sousa and Professor Eurico Rabelo Street.

However, they must show residence proof. Lastly, it’s advised to avoid the area during closure hours.
