Brazil: heavy rains hit southern Bahia again

The Brazilian Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes, signs this Monday (24) a service order for housing construction in Itabuna, southern Bahia.

More than R$82 million will be invested in the works, including constructing two linear parks on the banks of the Cachoeira River.

Cities in the south and extreme south of Bahia have suffered from storms and flooding.

A year ago, more than 20 people died, and more than 30,000 people had nowhere to live.

This year, the problems are repeated and have worried the local population.
