TAP Air Portugal Awarded for South America & Africa Routes

TAP Air Portugal has once again been named the top European airline for routes to South America and Africa at the 30th World Travel Awards (WTA).

Winners emerge from online voting that includes experts and the public. These awards celebrate high achievers in diverse travel sectors.

The latest win adds to the airline’s impressive list of past accolades. TAP has won for African routes in several years, including 2011 to 2022.

Similarly, it took the prize for South America from 2009 to 2022.

The airline currently serves over 90 global locations with over 1,250 weekly flights. Specifically, it offers 80 weekly flights to Brazil.

By 2024, the plan will bump this up to 91 flights to 11 Brazilian cities.

Moreover, it averages 13 daily flights, maintaining its role as the main connector between Brazil and Europe. It also flies to Venezuela.

Founded in 1945, TAP is Portugal’s primary airline and joined the Star Alliance in 2005.

Operating from Lisbon, it links Europe with Africa and the Americas. Particularly, it dominates in flights from Europe to Brazil.

This winter, the airline aims for over 1,080 weekly flights, covering a vast network.
