Covid-19 Omicron: Argentina announces new health passport for variant, although vaccinations may not protect

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Although the first Omicron cases in Latin America involved vaccinated individuals, Argentina expanded vaccination certificate requirements.

Omicron's first two Latin American cases involved individuals who had already been vaccinated, making one thing clear from the start: Covid vaccinations may not protect against new infections. Vaccinated people are just as infectious as unvaccinated in any variant, including Omicron.
