In August, Brazil’s federal tax collections reached R$166.3 billion (US$31.4 billion), totaling R$1.6 trillion year-to-date.
These are the best results for these periods in the historical series, which began in 1995.
The data was released on Tuesday, October 25, by the Federal Revenue Service.
The revenue for September had a real increase (discounting inflation) of 4.07% compared to the same month in 2021.
And a real increase of 9.52% in the accumulated for the year on the same basis of comparison.
The increase in tax collection can be explained mainly by the growth in Corporate Income Tax (IRPJ) and Social Contribution on Net Profit (CSLL) collections.
Without considering the non-recurring factors, there would be a real growth of 9.02% in collections in the accumulated period and 6.37% in September 2022.
